In the heart of the temple of Edfu you will come to the most important room in this temple according to the old believes of some of the Egyptians. In this room lives the spirit of the falcon Horus represented by a statue made from pure gold and hidden in a shrine made from one hard stone with a door from wood. In front of this shrine you will find the boat of the ceremonies which was carried on the shoulders of the servants of the temple during the inundation of the Nile every year

This plant means Upper Egypt and the bee means Lower Egypt . The whole carving means the King of Upper and lower Egypt. Since the Nile flow from Africa to Egypt we call Upper Egypt to all Cities situated before Cairo and we call Lower Egypt to all Cities from Cairo to the Mediterranean see at the north side of Egypt
The temple of Edfu was built during the followers of Alexander the great to show the Egyptians their respect of the ancient Egyptian believes . On the walls, there are scenes show the victory of Horus over his uncle Set who killed the father of Horus Osiris. In this scene Set is shown as a hippo and Horus ride him in a victory scene
